Todd Tolosa

Todd teaches Handgun 101 at Sharpshooters Group in Lorton, Virginia.

He has been shooting a wide variety of firearms since age 12 and participated on both the rifle and Raider teams in high school JROTC, where he qualified at the Expert level in marksmanship. His hands-on experience is complemented by a lifelong interest in weapons history and the evolution of firearm design.

Drawing on his background in coaching and teaching, Todd emphasizes patience, clear explanations, and a strong foundation in firearm safety. He strives to create a welcoming environment where new shooters feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. His instruction focuses not just on how a handgun works, but on understanding the responsibility that comes with handling one.

For Todd, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the joy and confidence students gain as they develop their skills, especially those shooting for the first time. Equally important is the opportunity to help prevent firearm-related accidents and negligent handling through education. His goal is for every student to leave with a positive experience, greater confidence, and safety habits that extend well beyond the range.
